Drake Energy & Maritime Consulting was engaged by Australia’s offshore energy regulator, the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA), and the Commonwealth Department of Industry Science and Resources to provide advice and recommendations on the Australian oil spill preparedness and response (OSPR) framework. This work included a review of international best practice in OSPR frameworks, the development of recommendations for potential changes to the Australian OSPR framework, and a cost benefit analysis.
